Wed., 4/30

All students:  Please remember to bring back the form about my classes that was sent home with you on Monday for your parents to sign.  We need to get schedules adjusted quickly.

1st Period:

We got back into our normal routine.  We began with a real world application problem using equations for our Warm-up. We used the 5 steps to problem solving to find the solution to this problem.  Then we sharpened our computation skills through Computation Challenge # 1.  Last, we began to play an equation review game.  We will continue the game tomorrow.  Our focus for these last few weeks of school is to gain a solid understanding of the basic skills that will help us be successful in high school Math 1 next year.

2nd Period:

Wednesday, 4/23

1st Period:

We went over the probability practice from yesterday and reviewed test taking strategies.  Several of you asked for more practice problems.  We gave you the Sample Test problems 1-26 so that you could practice on your own and can check your answers during Homeroom tomorrow with Mrs. Clody or myself.  THIS IS NOT HOMEWORK!!!  It is only if you want extra practice.  Mrs. Clody offered to be here on Friday morning at 8:20 am for any last minute help.  This session is only for specific help; that means, if you don't bring specific problems that you have tried to work out, then you will not be allowed to enter.

2nd Period:

We will meet for the full connections block tomorrow.  We will continue to practice test taking strategies while reviewing all of the material taught this year.

CRCT Eve - Tuesday, 4/22

1st Period:

We practiced test taking skills with a review of probability today.  Tomorrow we will meet for the whole connections block so we will have the same amount of time as usual.  We will continue with practicing test taking strategies with a mixed review of all math concepts you have learned this year.

2nd Period:

We practiced test taking skills with a review of systems of equations today.  Thursday,  we will meet for the whole connections block so we will have the same amount of time as usual.  We will continue with practicing test taking strategies with a mixed review of all math concepts you have learned this year.

Tuesday, April Fool's

1 Period:

We were no fools today; we worked hard by continuing to review solving equations.  You still need to review integers and fractions on your own.  We also practiced for CRCT with the warm-up problems.  Tomorrow, we will be working with absolute value, so brush up to be ready.

2 Period:

We practiced solving CRCT type problems for our wam-up today.  Next, we practiced solving equations by playing Math-O and everyone did well.  Nice!  Now, if we could just cut the extra commentary, we'd really rock!  Tomorrow, we will be working with absolute value so it would behoove you to refresh yourself on this.

Monday, 3/31

0 Period:

We worked practice CRCT problems for our warm-up today.  Then, we reviewed equations through the "I have, Who has?" game.  Wednesday, we will review inequalities.  I will be here the week after Spring Break at our normal meeting times to continue our review and practice problem solving strategies.  You may also bring in any problems from your regular Math class that you are still having trouble with for me to help you with.

1 Period:

We worked practice CRCT problems for our warm-up today.  Then, we reviewed equations through the Relay Race.  You all did well once you understood how the game worked.  Way to go!  It did show us that we still have some weaknesses in our basic skills (fractions, integers, multiplication facts).  Please continue to practice your multiplication facts and memorize your square numbers.  These will be VERY USEFUL on the CRCT since you can't use a calculator.  Remember, you may also bring in any problems from your regular Math class that you are still having trouble with for me to help you with.

2 Period:

We worked practice CRCT problems for our warm-up today.  Then, we reviewed equations through the "I have, Who has?" game.  You all did great work today!  Thank you!  Remember, you may also bring in any problems from your regular Math class that you are still having trouble with for me to help you with.
