The students will be ale to describe the purpose of the European Union and the relationship between member nations.

Friday, December 4th

We finished up our European government chart.  The kiddos got their study guide.  They need to do at least the first 10 questions.  They will need their social studies table of contents to complete the study guide.

Thursday, December 3rd

We reviewed the European Union questions.  We then began a chart over the governments of Germany, UK, and Russia.  Today we worked on Germany.  Tomorrow I will have the info sheets for all three governments posted on my blog :)

HW - begin studying your social studies table of contents for your government test which will be on Wednesday of next week.

Wednesday, December 2nd

Our students had classroom guidance in the covered play area today. 

HW - MAKE SURE YOUR EUROPEAN UNION ASSIGNMENT IS COMPLETE SINCE YOU HAD AN EXTRA DAY and if time permits, do the extra credit :)

Tuesday, December 1st

We worked on completing our activities from yesterday.

HW - Please make sure your questions from the sheet I gave you are answered and the map is properly colored.

EXTRA CREDIT - Complete #1, #2, and #3A on page 371 by tomorrow :)

We began an activity covering the ins and outs of the European Union.

We completed a journal 3 2 1 and watched a video stream about World War II.

* We graded key term blocks.  We then viewed a power point over 2 democratic systems of government and completed cloze notes.  Download Two Forms of Democratic Government

HW - current event is due tomorrow, government terms vocab quiz on Thursday. 

EXTRA CREDIT CHANCE - Make flash cards tonight and study a minimum of 20 minutes tonight and 20 minutes tomorrow and have a parent/guardian sign off on your study time - earn 5 bonus points on her quiz.

We viewed a power point over the citizen participation in government and took cloze notes.

Thursday, November 12th

We began government vocab today and started creating key term blocks.

HW - you must have the following 3 key term blocks completed - autocracy, oligarchy, and democracy

Wednesday, November 11th

We discussed again how to complete the upcoming current event.  We then discussed Veterans day and watched a brain pop to honor veterans day. 

HW - Current event is due Nov 18th - THINGS TO REMEMBER - Your current event must be about a country we have or will study and please email me the article or attach it to your written work.  Marnie.Ross@cobbk12.org:)    TURN IN EARLY FOR ME TO CHECK OVER!!!

We participated in an in class Geography bee today.

Monday, November 9th

We took a pre test and then completed a chart on German reunification.

HW - complete #2 chart on page 397 using information from 395-396

6th grade DANCE on NOVEMBER 19th :)

Nov. 19th from 4:30-6:00.  Tickets and permission slips will be available Nov. 17,18 and 19th.  YEA :):):)

We took a post test, turned in our notebooks, and then started on our homework.   Students are to create the chart on page 352 and complete it.  They can use pages 353-356 to locate the information on Eastern Europe under Communism and read pages 364-366 for after communism.

We reviewed the answers to the study guide and then played review games at 4 different stations.
