March 30th-April 3rd

Monday, March 30th

We started Australia and Oceania today.  The kiddos labeled a political and physical map of Australia.

HW - make sure you have your maps labeled and your current events are due tomorrow

BOOK CHECK WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1ST!!!  ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING THEIR TEXT BOOKS FOR A BOOK CHECK!!! 

Tuesday, March 31st

We are going to review the maps.  We are then going to start vocab making key term blocks with the attached terms.  Download Australian vocabulary

HW - key term blocks are due Wednesday

Wednesday, April 1st

We are going to review the vocabulary.  We then will watch a video stream about Australia's geography.

Thursday, April 2nd

We read ch. 25 section 1 and completed section assessment questions 2-4.

HW - finish assessment if not completed in class

Friday, April 3rd

We will read ch. 25 section 2 and complete section assessment questions 2-4

March 23rd-27th

Monday, March 23rd

We took a post test and started vocabulary for economics of Latin America.  We took 12 vocab words and started to make flash cards.

HW - none - we will finish up flash cards tomorrow

Tuesday, March 24th

We took our vocab words and wrote sentences with them incorporating their meaning and the significance of the word in Latin America.

HW - both flash cards and sentences must be completed by tomorrow

CURRENT EVENT DUE - on Tuesday, March 31st - current events turned in early will earn a super star :)

Wednesday, March 25th

We reviewed our vocab sentences and then created our own quizzes with an answer key.

HW - be prepared for your quiz tomorrow :)  Current events are due next Tuesday, turn in early for a super star :)

We took our quiz and then took a pre test for the last unit :)

Friday, March 27th

We reviewed for the CRCT with a power point game.

March 16th-20th

Monday, March 16th

Today was the last day in class to work on the projects.  They are due at the beginning of class tomorrow.  The students who finished before class ended began their homework.

HW - Read Ch. 9 section 3 and complete the bubble map drawn on the board.  Brazil is the center bubble and there should be 5 branching out bubbles with the following subjects : Regional leaders, Government, Culture, Economy, and People.  Group projects are due at the beginning of class as well.

Tuesday, March 17th

We turned in our projects and our homework and the we worked to complete the section assessment.

Wednesday, March 18th

We reviewed the section about Brazil.  We viewed a power point introducing the Guerrilla movements and then began a reading about the Shining Path.

HW - none :)

Thursday, March 19th

We finished reading our article about Peru's government ad the Shining Path.  We filled out a graphic organizer about what items in the article helped Democracy and what items hurt Democracy in Peru.

HW - Complete the Santa Evita sheet with guided questions

Friday, March 20th

We reviewed the sheet about Eva Peron and watched a video stream about her life.

March 9th-13th

Monday, March 9th

To prepare for a group project we will be working on this week, we read Ch. 8 section 2 about the Economies and Cultures of Central America and the Caribbean.

HW - make sure your section assessment is complete for Ch. 8 section 2 and if you have a piece of poster board, please bring it in :)

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING ANNOUNCEMENT - I WILL BE UNABLE TO STAY TOMORROW, but will be here on Wednesday until 5:30.  I apologize for any inconvenience!!

Tuesday, March 10th

We reviewed the answers to the section assessment.  We watched a video stream about the cultures of the Caribbean and Central America to prepare for our in class project that will begin tomorrow.

We began our Caribbean and Central America in class group project.

Friday, March 13th

We worked on our projects and they were doing such a wonderful job, I am extending their due date to Tuesday.  We will be working on our projects on Monday again :)  They will have to do the section we were going to do in class for homework on Monday though so that we do not get too far behind :)

March 2nd - March 6th

Monday, March 2nd

We turned in our Liberators activity.  We read Ch. 7 section 2 about Mexico from its Independence through recent time.  We took a minimum of 15 main idea facts.

Tuesday, March 3rd

We reviewed our questions from yesterday.  We then read Ch. 8 section 2 about the independance of Central American and the Caribbean and wrote our 15 facts.

HW - turn your facts in to good questions that could be used on a test or quiz.

Wednesday, March 4th

We reviewed our Central America/Caribbean questions then began reading ch. 9 section 1 about the Independance of South America and took down our facts.

HW - turn your facts into questions :)

QUIZ ALERT - you will have a quiz over the four sections we will have studied on Friday - you may use any notes you have taken over these sections on your quiz :)

Thursday, March 5th

We reviewed our South American questions and began reading about Cuba and taking our facts.

HW - turn your facts into questions, tomorrow you will have a quiz over all of these sections!!!  There is a slight change in the info from above, you may only use your notes on your quiz of you have ALL OF THEM completed, both facts and questions!  PLEASE HAVE THEM COMPLETED AND CORRECTLY LABED BY TOMORROW FOR USE ON THE QUIZ :)

Friday, March 6th

We completed a Journal 3 - 2 - 1.  We then took our quizzes.
