October 27th-31st

Monday, October 27th

We took a quiz over the religion's we have been working with and then took our pre test for the next unit.

HW - none, kids will get their Religion's projects back tomorrow... if the project was not turned in or not complete, they will be receiving a test to assess their knowledge for their grade.

Current event is due this Friday, kids can start on them beginning this past Friday.

Tuesday, October 28th

We worked on our new vocab creating key term blocks, we will continue with this tomorrow and will be using index cards as well.  If you have any handy, send them in but I have a lot too :)

HW - Bring in index cards if you can, current event is due on Friday - get it out of the way and turn it in early :)

Wednesdsay, October 29th

We voted and continued working on our vocab.  We worked on our key term blocks and creating flash cards.

HW - Key term blocks are due by tomorrow, current event is due on Friday.

Thursday, October 30th

We took notes from a power point on three different government types and the citizen participation within each.

Friday, October 31st

We color coded a map of Europe according to its type of government.

October 20th-24th

Monday, October 20th

We began a project on the birthplace of three major religions.  We will be researching in class through Wednesday.  The project will be due by the end of class on Friday.

We continued our research today for our projects.

Wednesday, October 22nd

We finished up our research for our projects.

HW - If you are still missing any of your research, this needs to be completed by tomorrow.   You will work tomorrow and Friday on the final draft and this will be due by the end of class on Friday :)

Thursday, October 23rd

We started our final product today, students will have until the end of class on Friday to complete their final product.

HW - none :)

Friday, October 24th

We finished up our final product today and started the Ch.15 section 4 assessment questions 1-4. 

HW - Complete the section assessment and study for a quiz on Religions on Monday, study notes from project and the section from the book.

October 13th-17th

Monday, October 13th

We took a post test (for my data) and then we worked on review questions 1-10 on page 404, question portion only.

HW - none, just make sure review questions are complete by the next notebook check

Tuesday, October 14th

We reviewed our chart we had worked on from last week.  We then began watching a video stream about the Berlin Wall.

Wednesday, October 15th

We finished up the Berlin wall video and organized our notebooks.

Thursday, October 16th

We read a section on the Russian Empire and completed the section assessment questions 1-4

Friday, October 17th

We completed our journal 3 2 1 and then reviewed the Russian Empire section assessment.  We then got into partners and one partner read about life in the Soviet Union on pages 353-356 and the other read about life in modern day Russian on pages 364-366.  They wrote 5 main idea facts and then taught eachother about their section.

HW - what was not completed of the above activity needs to be completed on their own for homework :)

October 6th-10th

We reviewed the answers to the study guide and then reviewed further for our test tomorrow :)

Tuesday, October 7th

We turned in our notebooks today and took the History of Europe test.

HW - none :)  Tomorrow they will get their quiz and tests grades back and will have the opportunity to make corrections if needed.  They will be due by Friday.

Wednesday, October 8th

We watched a video stream about World War II and then reviewed our quiz and test grades.  Students who earned a low grade on either assessment or both were offered the chance to do corrections.  Please check I-Parent to review your kiddos grade.

Thursday, October 9th

We began a brief study of all of the countries in Ch. 14.  The students drew a chart from the board, which can also be found on page 378 in their text books.  They then were paired up and each student had to choose 2 countries to become experts about.  They were to read the section about their countries and then fill in the chart.  Tomorrow the students will teach their partners the info about their countries and they will work together on the 5th remaining countries.

HW - make sure your 2 countries are complete!!!

Friday, October 10th

We worked on our partner portion of our Ch. 14 chart.

HW - If there are any blanks on your chart please complete them by Tuesday :)
