November 26th-30th

WELCOME BACK STUDENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I hope you all had a great and restful break :)

Monday, November 26th

We finished up our civilization projects and some classes started presentations.

HW - Projects due tomorrow at the beginning of class.  Current event due on Friday.

Tuesday, November 27th

We presented a few more of the civilization projects :)  They really turned out good!!!  We then began vocab for the new unit on the Origins of Latin America.   The students began key term blocks for the following key terms : 1. mesoamerica  2. indigenous  3. aqueduct  4. astronomy  5. Aztec  6. Inca  7. Cortes  8. Pizarro  9. Montezuma  10. Atahualpa  11. Columbus  12. Columbian Exchange

HW- Finish key term blocks for tomorrow, current event due on Friday

Wednesday, November 28th

We reviewed the key terms that would pertain to todays lesson.  We then read Ch. 6 Section 2 and completed a guided reading together.

HW - Make sure your guided reading is complete as well as the T/F side.  Current event is due on Friday :) 

Thursday, November 29th

We graded the T/F side and reviewed the important info in Ch. 6 Section 2.  We then read "Ask the Aztecs."  The students had a few minutes to then study the information in their groups.  We then took question and answers strips and the groups competed to place the correct ones together.

Friday, November 30th

We completed our Journal 3 2 1.  We then watched a video stream on the conquering of the Americas.  The students were required to write a minimum of 15 video notes that will be #5 in their notebook.

We began our European Diversity Tour Brochure project.  This is a good website the students can find a lot of good info from http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/globaltrek/

We are researching today and tomorrow.  Wednesday, they will be ale to work on their final product in class.

We researched for our project. 

HW - If your research is not complete, please have it ready for tomorrow.  We will work on the project in class and the final product will be due on Monday.

We will work on our final product of our project.

HW - The project will be due on Monday :)  Be ready to enter into Latin America tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, November 15th

We are beginning a new unit today on Latin America.  We will learn about the physical features of Latin America by reading Ch. 6 Section 1 and discussing the section. We then label 10 of the many physical features of Latin American on a map.

HW - Keep working on the project!  I encourage the students to cross reference their projects with the guideline sheet!

SUPER STAR BONUS!!!!  - Complete Ch. 6 section 1 review questions 1-4.  Each # must be labeled properly and answered completely :)

Friday, November 16th

We reviewed our physical map of Latin America with a power point that also included cloze notes.  We then reviewed the physical features using play dough :)

We graded and reviewed the answers to the take home quiz over Ch. 13 Section 2.  We then learned about the European Union through class discussion and Ch. 13 section 3.  The students started to label a map of the European Union Countries and had a graphic organizer to complete.

Thursday, November 8th

We discussed the test tomorrow and reviewed for the test.

HW - Notebook check tomorrow!!!!!  IF your notebook is ready to go and complete, you will be allowed to use your notebook on the test :):):):):):):)

Today we took a test over Modern Europe.
