December 18th-21st

Monday, December 18th

Students reviewed for their country/capital tests.  We then read about the Incas and completed the graphic organizer.

HW- Test tomorrow over Latin American country and capitals.

Tuesday, December 19th

Students took the country/capitals test and then read about spanish conquistadors of Latin American and began section review questions 1-5.

HW - Finish review questions

Wednesday, December 20th

Students will get in groups of 2-3 and pick a section we have been working on in the book to summarize.  They will take their summaries and put them to a holiday tune.

HW - none

Thursday, December 21st

Students will complete activity from yesterday and perform their summary tunes in front of the class.

December 11th-15th

Monday, December 11th

Students will review Natural resources, take an open book quiz, then begin a review sheet for their test over Ch. 1 that will be this Wednesday.

HW - Finish review sheet and study for test on Wed.

Tuesday, December 12th

We will review the answers the review sheet.  We will then complete a study guide and go over it.

HW - Test tomorrow, study :)  The notebooks will also be due as soon as class begins, so make sure they are put together before coming to class.

Wednesday, December 13th

Ch. 1 test will be taken and then more preperation for the countries/capitals test will be completed.

HW - Review political map of Latin America for a test next Tuesday.

Thursday, December 14th

Students began their studies of the first peoples of Latin America, the Incas, Aztecs, and Mayas.  We read a section and started a graphic organizer.  We also reviewed for their countries and capitals test which will be on Tuesday, December 19th/

HW - Countries/capitals test and current events due December 19th

Friday, December 15th

Students will watch a movie about the mysterious Mayas.  A minimum of 25 facts will be taken.

December 4th-8th

Monday, December 4th

Students reviewed Ch. 1 Section 1 and took a quiz in class. We read Ch. 1 Section 2 Climate and Vegetation and completed guided two column notes.

HW - Project due Friday

Tuesday, December 5th

The students will review Ch. 1 Section 2 and then complete an open book quiz.  We will then review for the Latin American Countries and Capitals test, date TBA.

HW - Project due Friday.  I will be in the media center at 8:15 tomorrow if any student needs to finish up some research.  Have your student dropped off in the front at 8:15 and I will get them from the cafeteria.

Wednesday, December 6th

The students will learn about the natural resources of Latin America and begin a bubble map.

HW - Project due Friday

Thursday, December 7th

We will finish reviewing natural resources of Latin American and complete a tri-bubble map. We will then take a quiz over the natural resources.

Friday, December 8th

Students will take a National Geography  Bee test to determine who will have the chance to represent Awtrey.  More details to come.

HW -Study Latin American countries and capitals for a test over this next Friday.
