Students will be receiving information on this website.  This information sheet will include a number that they will need to log on to the site.  If your student does not come home with this number, you can email his or her homeroom teacher to get it :)

November 27th-Dec. 1

Monday, November 27th

Students learned about their project for Europe and then we began our research.  Students are going to complete an ABC book on a country they chose in Europe.

HW- Work on project.  ABC book will be due December 8th.  Current event due this Thursday.

Tuesday, November 28th

Students will have this day to research for their projects.  This will be the last day in class to work on projects.

I will be coming in this Wednesday and Friday at 8:15am if any students would like to come in and get on the computers.  Please have your child to the cafeteria by 8:15. If you need to make other arrangements with me so our child can have more research time after school, please email me at Marnie.Ross@cobbk12.org and I will be happy to work something out :)

Wednesday, November 29th

We will begin Latin America today.  Students will be turning in their Europe and Russia text book and checking out a Latin America text book.  We will then take a pre test and begin labeling a physical and political map.

Thursday, November 30th

Students continued working on labeling their maps.  We then reviewed the countries and capitals with a song :)

Friday, December 1st

We reviewed the countries and capitals of Latin America.  We then read Ch. 1 Section 1 Land and Water.

HW - Students need to complete review questions 1-5 for this section.  Their project is due December 8th. I will be here at 8:15 am Monday morning if your child would like to come in and work on the project.  They will have internet access with some printing accessibility.  Drop them off at the cafeteria and I will pick them up there :) HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

November 20th-21st

Monday, November 20th

Students will learn a variety of different language groups and where they are located in Europe. Students will also label a European map with the countries in the European Union and the countries who still have a Constitutional Monarchy form of government.  Students also need to label the capitals of the countries on the map.

HW - complete this activity if not completed in class.

Tuesday, November 21st

Students will watch a video about the Berlin wall and write the important facts during the video!

HW - Have a great Thanksgiving Holiday :)

November 13th-17th

Monday, November 13th

Students will read Ch. 4 sect. 1 about Great Britain and complete and activity about Fact and Opinion.

HW - none

Tuesday, November 14th

Students will learn about Sweden and being a Welfare state.  Students will complete a guided reading and an open book quiz.

HW - none

Wednesday, November 15th

Students will define vocab terms for vocab quiz on Friday and then review terms.

HW - Begin Studying for vocab quiz Friday :)

Thursday, November 16th

Students reviewed their vocab briefly and then we worked on pulling information from various primary sources.

HW - Extra credit - take vocab terms and put them in sentences demonstrating knowledge of the term.  Vocab quiz tomorrow.  Test corrections due Monday.

Friday, November 17th

Students will take a vocab quiz.  We will then complete the primary sources activity.

November 06, 2006

November 6th-10th

Monday, November 6th

Students will experience what life is like in many Eastern European countries through video streaming.

HW - Read Ch. 3 section 3 about the cultures of Russia and complete review questions 1-5.

Tuesday - NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

Wednesday, November 7th

We will review the questions from Ch. 3 section 3.  We will then fill out a graphic organizer to help us organize our information about the cultures of Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and Russia.

HW - Students will have a study guide to complete for their test on Friday over the cultures of Europe and Russia

Thursday, November 8th

We will review the answers to the study guide and then play a review game./

HW - Students need to study for their test over the cultures of Europe and Russia.  Test is tomorrow!!!  They also need to complete the Cultures of Europe and Russia worksheet for extra practice.  Notebook check is tomorrow, students must come in with their notebooks completed :)

Sorry for any inconvience from last week's blogs not being updated for several days. We were having technical difficulties with our blogging system.

No School tomorrow, Nov 7 for election day.

Can Food Drive

When? Monday, November 13 through Friday, November 17th.

What? Canned food items only.

Where? Take the canned food items to your homeroom teachers' classrooms.

Why? To help our Awtrey families in need during the Thanksgiving season!

*Homerooms with the most canned food items will receive a prize!! (TBA)

Other Notes:

1. Please review the dress code with your child. The dress code is located in your child's agenda. Please note that a skirt's mininum length must be 3 inches above the knee or longer in length. This is with or without leggings.
