Welcome Rising 6th Graders!!

Welcome sixth graders!  This year you will study about Earth science.  Earth science focuses on the Earth's processes and how those processes interact.  Expect to learn about things such as rocks, minerals, space, earthquakes, and volcanoes.  Click on the links below to familiarize yourself with some vocabulary terms and topics that we will be covering in the first nine weeks.

We made it!

Last week of school!  We are mostly reviewing in science, so here is the schedule:

Tuesday:
1.  Work on and finish study guide (this, technically, is your last official grade)

Wednesday:
1.  Round Robin Review  (we'll review by going around the room and answering questions)

Thursday:
1.  End of year Jeopardy Game

Friday:
1.  Student class survey
2.  Create pre-test for next years students and offer suggestions on how to survive science!!

Year End Review!

We have begun to review what we have studied all year long!  Students have been assigned specific chapters to present and review to the class.  They have the option to review the class in any way they would like.  Many have included fun review games with prizes!  Here's how the week will go:

Monday:
1. Work in groups on written reviews and visuals for the presentations

Tuesday:
1.  Continue presentation preparation
2.  Begin presentations...if ready

Wednesday-Friday:
1.  Project presentations
2.  When presentations end, students will be given a written study guide which is their LAST classwork grade for the year!! The due date for this assignment will be determined by when the assignment is started.

3 Weeks Left!

Here's what we will be doing in science next week:

Monday:
1.  Create a geologic timeline
**due Weds.**

Tuesday:
1.  Work on geologic timeline
2.  Dinosaur video

Wednesday:
1.  Fossils/Geologic time study guide

Thursday:
1.  Fossils Test
2.  Begin year end review

Friday:
1.  In class group activity:  Re-teach two assigned topics to the class
(Today is preparation, creation of visuals, etc.)
