Thank you!

I want to say thank you to all the parents and kids who worked hard to cook play dough for our lab!  We had a great time creating our ocean floor models and they turned out wonderful!  Also, current event projects should be graded and handed back by the end of next week.  Here's what you should expect for the beginning of next week:

Monday:
1.  Take notes over the chemistry of ocean water
2.  Bill Nye video over the oceans

Tuesday:
1.  Salinity Lab

Wednesday:
1.  Finish salinity lab
2.  Workbook pages over ocean composition

The upcoming week is conference week, so we'll have shortened classes all week.  Here's what is going to happen in science class:

Monday:
1.  Take notes over features of the ocean floor
2.  Complete workbook pages 165-167

Tuesday:
1.  Bullying lesson #2
2.  Vocabulary Quiz!
**Play dough and Current Event Projects are due TODAY!!

Wednesday:
1.  Ocean floor Play Dough Lab
No Homework!

Thursday:
1.  Take notes over tides
2.  Review the features of the ocean floor: Graphing activity

Friday:
1.  Take notes over Currents
2.  Map the Oceans and Seas of the Earth!  Bring your social studies book to class for this assignment!  This assignment is homework if not finished in class!

OK...Change of plans...

Sorry folks!  I forgot that Wednesday is an early release day, so our assignments have changed a bit.  Here's what to expect for the rest of the week...

Wednesday:
1.  Chapter 17 Vocabulary Quiz (make sure you have studied!)
2.  Read pgs. 583-589 if you have time after the quiz.
Homework:  Finish your weather observation chart

Thursday:
1.  You'll take notes over floods
2.  You'll watch a video about lightning

Friday:
1.  You'll take notes over "predicting the weather"
2.  You get PRACTICE predicting the weather by using/interpreting a weather map

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:  All classes did an AWESOME job on their debates!  Congratulations to the teams that won!  Also, the REVISED due date for the Current Events Project is October 18th.

It's Debate Time!!

Bring your debating skills to class on Tuesday!!  We'll have an in class debate on whether or not the government can force you to leave your home before a hurricane.  Come to class armed with opinions!

For Wednesday:
