Weekly Learning Focus:
Students will follow an organizational structure of a resume to obtain a job.
Students will examine models of business correspondance.
Students will create a resume and cover letter (letter of application) for a job at TEENS 4 GREEN.
Last week, students worked on APPLICATIONS for EMPLOYMENT (due Thursday, 10/29).
We discussed JOBS and CAREERS and our UPCOMING UNIT on TECHNICAL WRITING.
This week, students took notes on the PARTS of a RESUME (Monday/Tuesday). download Parts of a Resume
They completed a list of their personal SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE EXTRACURRICULUAR ACTIVITES, and ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
On Wednesday, students will take notes on the PARTS OF A BUSINESS LETTER and HOW TO WRITE A COVER LETTER.
Thursday/Friday - students will work on drafting & typing their RESUMES and COVER LETTERS.

NEXT WEEK: Students will hand in business documents above and THEN work on LETTERS of RECOMMENDATION. These technical writing documents are PHASE ONE of the Technical Writing Unit.
