Happy Very Dry Monday!

Warm Up - this week we are focusing on the rules for CAPITALIZATION.  Everyday students will get a rule for using capital letters and practice.

Students received their CRCT ONLINE log in information.  We visited the site, and students took two CRCT tests (Bailey ELA 7, Test01 and Bailey Rdg7, Test 02).
Here is the site - students can take BENCHMARK TESTS in other subjects as well.

Today students worked on a GROUP ACTIVITY on PLURAL and POSSESSIVE NOUNS.

TOMORROW students have a Plural and Possessive test.  Students will take (2) tests.
ONE test will be on the spelling of words, (Spelling book pg. 52) and the usage of the possessive words (Spelling book pg. 56). Students will have to fill in the possessive words in sentences.

The OTHER test will be a MULTIPLE CHOICE test on PLURALS and POSSESSIVES.

We reviewed and graded several assignments in class. 
Students will be tested on the RULES of MAKING PLURALS and SINGULAR and PLURAL POSSESSIVES.
Students can study Plural NOTES and Possessive NOTES.
The test is on Friday, March 27th.
There will be NO LATE WORK handed in this quarter.  Students have (1) additional opportunity to hand in an assignment.  If an assignment is given as a CLASSWORK assignment, students can take it home to complete (this counts as an additional opportunity). 
Zeros CANNOT be made up 4th Quarter.

Today we worked on an assignment in the WAG book.
Pages 624-625, Ex. 61, 62, 69

Some students also took home SPELLING pages from last week's assignment (if they were NOT completed).
Irregular Verbs (53), Possessive Nouns (57). THESE MUST be completed by 3/24.
Students will have a SPELLING TEST on Friday on the words from these pages.

Tuesday, March 17th

Today we went over the CRCT practice ELA test we took yesterday.
COMMON questions missed on test:
Possessive (singular and plural)
Topic sentences/supporting sentences

Happy Monday - March 16th

DOL #20 - Today we corrected the DOL for the week.

We took a practice CRCT English Language Arts (ELA) Test. 
We will be reviewing CRCT concepts in preparation for the April 21-30 CRCT test.

Happy Wednesday (March 11th)

Today we celebrated our RESEARCH.  Students presented their topics to small groups and we rotated groups so everyone could learn something from the research.  Students orally presented (2-3 minutes) significant facts about their topics as classmates actively listened and took notes. 
The tri-boards were VERY IMPRESSIVE!
Tomorrow.......we will continue presentations.
