Welcome to the 7th Grade and to Team 7-1

Dear Parents:  I look forward to an exciting year.  I hope you had a chance to look over the things I sent home this week.  Here is a RECAP of how our FIRST WEEK went.

Monday, 8/11
Went over course outline & classroom procedures.  Sent COURSE OUTLINE home to be signed and returned. 
HOMEWORK - bring in a comp book, magazine, & family pix. Summer reading due Friday.

Tuesday, 8/12
Reviewed classroom expectations and procedures.  Filled out index cards on home information. 
HOMEWORK - get course outline signed, bring in comp book, pix. Summer reading due Friday.

Wednesday, 8/13
Passed out GRAMMAR NOTES & plastic protector for students to keep in binder.  Went over DOL format and completed a sample DOL.

Thursday, 8/14 
Students completed a PRACTICE DOL - students were able to use their GRAMMAR NOTES - and handed in assignment. 
We took a Pre-Test for Quarter 1.
HOMEWORK  Summer reading due Friday.  Comp books due Friday, finish at home.

Friday, 8/15 
Class completed Pre-Test.  We introduced BOOK POINTS and passed out Parent Book Point Letter (to be signed/returned). 
Students created BOOK POINT FOLDERS. 
Many students handed in SUMMER READING review sheets and logged in their books in their BOOK POINT FOLDERS.
We tood a POP Quiz on grammar parts of speech.
Teacher also passed out Quarter 1 NEWSLETTER. (see attached) Download qtr_1_newsletter.pub
HOMEWORK - Comp books due in class TODAY.
