On Friday, December 14th, we will be having our LAST spelling test of the quarter. Here are the words that were given to students earlier this week. They completed activities on the words yesterday.
NOTE: If they simply student the ROOT word and practice the endings, they only have (10) words to study.
Spelling words: traveled, traveling, panicked, panicking, qualified, qualifying, controlled, controlling, researched, researching, received, receiving, arguing, argued, horrifying, horrified, committed, committing
Book points for Quarter 2 are due on Wednesday, December 19th. Students should have 12 accummulated points by the 19th!
Ask your son/daughter how they are doing with the book points!
Today I passed out a PROJECT sheet. We will be working on a persuasive project for the next few weeks. Most of the work will be done IN CLASS. Some of the assignments (rewrites, editing) may be sent home.
Here is the project AT A GLANCE:
Students will be creating a product, marketing the product, and presenting a SALES PITCH to a Board of Directors.
The project is in THREE PARTS:
Task 1 - Small teams create a sketch and description of product
Task 2 - Individual persuasive essays written to convince a marketing firm that your product is the best on the market
Task 3 - Small teams again - 10 minute Sales Pitch/Presentation
HERE IS THE PROJECT sheet that was given out today. It is worth THREE PROJECT GRADES!
The signed project sheet is worth (3) BONUS points if attached to graphic organizer and essay.
